What's the use of each of the different statues?
I have the Frog and Spider, and I have seen the cat around.

I use the Frog for fast travel.
I haven't used the spider yet, and not sure what the cat is for.

Thanks.

I use the frog for fastness.

I don't think they really make much of a difference, except the Spider you can use to sneak past Enemys, since they think you are a spider.

But watch out, because good guys will attack you then!

The Cat is just cute, imo.

Ahh, the spider one makes sense.

Thanks.

The spider and beetle statuettes can be used to chase shopkeepers away, so (in most cases) you can loot the shop without being caught. As Lews said, both can also be used to get past enemies (the spider statuette makes the two army quests fairly easy, as you can walk past most of the orcs, and only be exposed briefly when you have to transform at the supply wagons or well).

I don't think anyone has discovered a use for the cat statuette. When I found one I thought it might come in handy to sneak around human territory or spy on people, but it didn't.

Wow, you can chase about shopkeepers. Now that sounds great.

Be careful you don't get caught by guards, or time out and transform back in the middle of looting and pillaging.

LOL, I just got chased for a few minutes by the Lieut. Robin. at the Market Place.

I was trying to enter the shop that sells the magic stuff, but it seems he has that orb or something, that protects me from entering his room.

You only get one brief chance to enter Kistandalius' back room, if you pay the poet standing just outside the shop to recite some poetry. The mage comes out to listen, and gets distracted just long enough for you to grab the spellbook off the table, and unlock the chest to get a (potentially quite good) dagger. The orb is just decorative, and you can not move or interact with it.

Unlike most shopkeepers, Kistandalius can detect you trying to enter the back room even if he is out of sight (chased out or moved with the mage's Swap Places special skill), and can teleport you away. If you missed your chance with the poet, the only other way to get past is defenses is to kill him (he sells charms and spell books, though, so killing him for a random spell book and dagger isn't really worth it, unless you do it just before heading to the wastelands).
