There is a 1/1 durability sword. It went to 0/1 durability so I can't use it anymore. the sword has been set on the ground, repair skill selected, and with a right click or left click I keep repairing the sword. and mana points also decrease, but the sword stays at 0/1 durability. Im using repair skill level 1, but nothing happened, the sword stays at 0/1 durability. Why is this?

The repair level one will only repair something to a certain percentage of the original, with a 1/1 there is no chance that it can be repaired.

1/1 is ruined, and can never work. It basically gets one swing in and then is done, it can never be repaired =/

Find a new sword, sorry.

If you really want to use the sword you can use DAD's Item Editor to edit the durabilty of the sword (and maybe it's charm quality/stats/name too).
But if it is a sword with only 1 durability it probably ain't that good and you'll probably find a better weapon soon.

Actually, a 0/1 item can be repaired, it just doesn't make much sense to do so. Since Repair restores up to a certain percentage, any fraction gets rounded down to the nearest integer. You would have to have the skill maxed to get 100% repair, or have a merchant do it (Otho the dwarf can repair, IIRC).

Level 1 repairs up to 60% of an item's durability, so with a max of 1, it can repair up to 0.6, rounded down (since it can not increase, and has to be an integer) gives you zero. Likewise, a max durability of 2 can be repaired up to 1 with level 1 of Repair, 10 or 11 can be repaired up to 6, 12 or 13 can be repaired up to 7, etc.

You shouldn't need to unequip an item to repair it. Are you putting the sword on the ground because you ran into problems with the skill, because others who did found that more reliable (and you are playing it safe), or because Repair seemed not to work with this sword?

Actually, I saw the symbol of repairing appearing, so that's why I put items on the ground. But now I know why it didn't work...

another questions about configurations:

How do you set some more configurations, except for the configtool.exe file? such as, changing mousebutton settings, key settings, exit game settings. Is there some sort of .cfg file or anything?
Also, how do I find a list of all keys that are being used in the game? For example, the ALT-key is not in the key config list, but it can be used in the game

From the main menu, under Options, there is a list of hotkeys you can change. AFAIK you can not change mouse button settings within the game.

Tutorial-Changing F1-F12 hotkeys to different keys

From the manual (pdf version);

Keyboard Shortcuts
SPACEPause/Unpause the game
CTRLTarget closest enemy to mouse cursor.
CTRLWhen dragging multiple objects from your inventory in the world and releasing the mouse cursor while holding CTRL pressed, split up the objects.
SHIFTWhen holding shift and moving the mouse cursor to the side of the screen, you can scroll away from your player character. Release shift to jump back to your player character.
ALTShow object boxes describing interesting objects in the environment
RToggles auto-run mode on/off. When toggled on, a left mouse click causes your character to run towards the designated point instead of walking to it.
CToggles combat mode on/off. draw your weapon (if you have none, show your fists) or put down your weapons
MToggle mini map Open the inventory (back pack)
EOpen the equipment plate
TOpen the player statistics plate
CTRL+LQuick load
CTRL+SQuick save
LOpen the "Load Game" screen
SOpen the "Save Game" screen
ESCBack to main menu
QOpen the quest log (diary)
AOpen the auto map (diary)
CTRL+F12 Assign hotkeys (F1-F12)
CTRL+F11Create a screenshot in the "Captures" sub directory

There is a configuration file edit to skip the intro videos (see here), which you may want to do after you have seen them at least once.
With the latest game version, this will also eliminate the need for the Play CD, except for a couple cases (the blessing ceremony, after hitting the gong late in the game, and at the end of the game). These are the same limitations as with the no-CD hack.
The version number is shown in the bottom right corner of the main menu (latest is 1.0034A, otherwise you may need the patch). The DVD version has already been updated, CD versions may or may not be, depending on when they were produced.

You can change the game resolution to other than supported resolution by editing the config.div file (in Notepad or another text editor). Note: the game itself may be fine at higher than supported resolutions, but opening the auto-map can cause the game to crash.

Is it possible to set a hotkey for: browse skills, potions and weapons? I've tried to assign hotkeys, but they work for items only.

You mean a hotkey to bring up the menu, rather than having to click the respective icon in the interface along the bottom of the screen? No, AFAIK you can only set hotkeys for individual skills, potions or weapons.

Ok, and how about the ALT-key function, to make all items instantly visible. is it possible to set this function to another key, instead of the ALT-key?

The alt key can not be changed in-game, but you could use a keyboard remapper (see below) to change keys before you start the game, and restore them afterward, or a program like AutoHotkey to do it on-the-fly (this program can also re-map mouse buttons). I have not tried any of these programs (found in a quick search).

I tried to assign a hotkey to an animal statue, is that possible? It's quite annoying to to back to the items menu so often...

I don't think there is any way to assign a hotkey to a statuette. I didn't use statuettes that much (mainly the frog for running fast), and would just open my inventory and click on one when required.

I have a question about alchemy skill. If you use this, are you able to make as many potions as possible? What do you need to make potions?
About the alchemy skill levels: level 1: mixing potions, level 2 making potion, is this right?

Alchemy level 1 allows you to combine different potions to make a new one
Level 2 let's you create minor potion by dragging small empty flasks over herbs
level 3 allows you to create normal potions by dragging empty flasks over herbs
Level 4 allows you to create super potions(IIRC) by dragging large empty flasks over herbs
Level 5 allows you to use augmentor, dragging a potion over it will increase the potion one level: minor potion becomes a normal one, normal becomes super potion.

Ok, so for potions, all you need is an empty flask and herbs?

Also, is there a list for each characters for the skills they get
automatically, when leveling up?

You can also use mushrooms for alchemy, or rotting food (for poison).

The skills that become available due to character level are the same for all classes.

A question about hay beds, I tried making a hay bed out of two bundles of straw but it didnt work. I took two packed straw bundles from the field and spread them out on the ground. I couln't combine them. When I do this in inventory, I just get two unpacked straw bundles, marked like this: "straw (2)". So I cant change it into a bed. Why is this?

I think you need to drop a bundled stack onto an unbundled stack of straw, or something like that. Click on a straw bundle to switch between bundled and unbundled.

Indeed, that seemed to be working.

Another question, are there any mods for this game? For example, about armor clothing. I don't like to see the armor clothing, but I do want the extra protection. So maybe clothing can be made transparant or anything?

There are no mods for the game.

The silver armour (found in the Dark Forest) can be upgraded in the easter egg area, after which it is invisible on the character when equipped.
