I have delivered the deed of Sir Patrick to Sir Dante, who sendt me to Yarun .. Talking to Yarun only results in him ordering my death ... And I die all the time - so did I do something wrong?

The only thing you are doing wrong is dying. You need to defeat the assassins and then track down Yarun again (note where he is before he disappears). What level are you at? I don't recall the initial assassins being that tough, but if you just made it to Verdistis and have not cleared much of Rivertown, that may account for the difficulty. In that case you can put off finishing this quest until you level a bit and/or get better equipment.

If you know where the assassins are coming from, you may be able to position yourself better before talking to Yarun.

Aura of Guarding and Spell Shield will give a little extra protection for physical and magical/poison damage, respectively. Otherwise, more restoration potions should help.

Also, check your resistances. I don't think the assassins use elemental or magical attacks, but they may use poison.

The techniques in the following topic will work against and strong opponents, though it contains minor spoilers.

I am a level 18 mage, but I do not have Aura of Guarding or Spell Shield. And I do not really have any resistance against poison. I am not done in Riverton, but I guess I need to go a kill some more orcs before I make another attempt to get past to Yarun.

Thanks Raze

Level 18 is a little on the low side for this quest. Actually, you do not need to rush any of the quests that give you an invitation to the castle. I did most of the quests in Rivertown before heading to Verdistis (didn't know it was a relatively small area), so Yarun's assassins were easy to deal with. I also did most of Verdistis and cleared the Rivertown sewers before heading to the castle. The area after that can be a little tough at lower levels.

I maxed Aura of Guarding and Spell Shield with purchased spell books. They came in handy for part of the game. Spell Shield is good protection against poison, since the damage comes off the shield and your character does not jerk around with reduced offensive and defensive capacities (this makes it easier for a melee character to handle the zombies around the cursed abbey, for example).

I will go looking for some spellbooks (haven´t noticed any yet - or have probably not been aware of them yet ) And I have not done the sewers in Riverton yet either .. But I did all the undead and the zombies around the cursed Abbey, but are having trouble with the steel guys inside - and I probably only need a little more strenght and some more powerfull spells for that as well.

So, spellbooks and killing orcs! (for now)

By the way, I came across this creature in a cave north east of the dwarwen village, Lich ?? (half of him is invisible) and he killed me more or less instantly. What is he? And what do I need to finish him?

Liches are rather tough I've found. They generally have a Lightning Bolt spell and a lifedraining spell (can't remember the name, but you can get the same spell in the Wizard page of the skills screen, lower right section)

To kill a lich, what you need are either decent resistances, or a huge health pool plus lots of potions. Otherwise, yes, they're very likely to kill you in one or two hits. (Note, I believe I found 20 Spiritual resistance makes me pretty much immune to the lifedraining spell. Lightning Resistance, I was still taking noticable damage at 30 or so Lightning resist, but it was far less than the amount I took with 0 Lightning resist. Spellshield might help, as it would absorb damage from the Lightning Bolts as long as it's up)

I think I will look for some more spiritual resistence (it says 15 now) and some lightning resistance before I go deal with him - I am so not equipped as it is.
But I do not really know how to get the spiritual resistence - except from equipting my amour with the blue and red gems that you pick up (which ends under scrolls in your inventory). Are there other ways? and for lightning, fire and poison as well?

Anyway sofar I thankfull for your help, otherwise I would end up getting too stucked - which would be a shame because I really like this game!

Most resistances you will get with equipment bonuses (and maybe charms). There is also the survivor's skill Magic Barrier, which will boost all your resistances by 5 each level.

Charms are not removable or replaceable, so unless you will be upgrading the equipment anyway, I would not use small or medium charms. You should be able to find or buy silver / large charms if you have equipment good enough to use for awhile.

Actually - I have a chain armor with a charm quality of 4, but as it is, I can only put one Isos into it. Whay is that? Because I have plenty of Isos and I would like to use them. Does it have to do with level or something. It say nothing about identifying, so that is not it.

Ok - last post - I had the window open but did not reload before writing a new post, so I didn´t see your latest post Raze. - Where I pretty much got all my answers about charms - Thanks!
