Hi.
I've been playing 50 hours and now my game is stuck because of
Demona cutscene bug.

Im at the part where I am suppose to meet the seven councilors.
( I just beat the succubus ).

this annoying bug occurs whenever I teleport away from the council chamber
after pinpointing the location of mardadeus ( human councilor ) with that scrye device

As soon as I leave the council chamber, the game's save button becomes gray
and I can no longer save the game.
Not only that, demona who was suppose to be talking to me with cutscene
remains neutral and I can neither talk or attack her.( no cutscene at all )

I do see the key in the house and I can safely rescue that human counsilor
But when i do that, then the game's quest gets messed up.

I have v1.34 I've tried reinstalling, deleting dfx folders, and even tried deleting world.x1 files but none of those methods seem to be working. ( I also tried started re-playing from stormfist dungeon )

I've seen many people pinpointing out the exact same problem but I do not see any clear answer for this annoying problem. Can anyone help?

If you do not scry for the human council member, can you leave the council hall and still save? How about scrying for other council members and doing those quests?

If you scry for the human council member and then talk to Zandalor about it, does that help?

What do you mean by the quest being messed up? One person had Demona missing completely, but was still able to rescue Mardaneus. Presumably part of the quest log entry would not get listed as complete that way, but they were able to continue playing.

Thank you I've sent the file to your email address.

Game is saved right after killing the succubus.
In this save, I have no entered the room and have not talked to the
zandalor.

Bug does not occur when I scrye and go for the other council members.
Bug only happens for this human councilor mardaneus.

When I telport to Aleoth WITHOUT scrying for the human councilor, I can still
save normally.

But when I scry for human councilor and telport to aleloth, ( where
the orc spawns in Aleloth ) I can no longer save the game ( moment after
I leave the council chamber.). The save buttton becomes gray forever.

If I save mardeneus after ignoring Demona( due to the bug, cutscene
doesnt even appear and she is neutral that I can neither talk or attack her )
, then the zandalor and the other cutscene does not work properly.
For example after returning back to council chamber after resucing Mardeneus, I scry for wizard then the wizard come so me but the wizard cut scene does not occur.

Interesting thing is that save button is already gray before even meeting Demona. That could mean that another cutscene was suppose to occur ( but only cutscene for human council I heard was the demona cutscene ) or another cutscene
was in progress. ( but I can still save while I am in the council chamber )

Perhaps after you scry for Mardaneus the game waits until you teleport out of the council hall to set up the occupation of Aleroth (temporarily disabling saving). If some part of that can not be completed, then the game may not enable saving again, and whatever is supose to trigger the cutscene is still waiting for the setup to be done.

Thank you for the quick reply.

What is that occupation of Aleroth?

hmm.. save becomes disabled right after I leave the council chamber
and this also happens in any other locaton ( 'ANY' place out of council chamber ). Before I leave the chamber, I can still save without any problem.

I first thought the game temporarily disabled the saving but after 10 mins
it displays the message that the game file is corrupted and I should reloade
from the last saved file.

Did the same thing happen in the save file that I sent you?

edit: I got your message. I will wait. Thank you so much

By 'occupation' I meant Demona and the giant orcs taking control of Aleroth.

I got it.

Thank you so much in helping.

I activated the catacomb door and then activated the human scry
right after.

It worked like charm and now I can save freely and demona cutscene is
also properly happening.

In case anyone else runs into this problem of not being able to save after scrying for the human council member and leaving the council hall, it was caused by not opening the Aleroth catacombs.

Usually if you have not restored Mardaneus' sanity before completing any of the quests that give you an invitation to the castle, he is automatically cured and the other healers move to the Blue Boar inn. Apparently the game has a problem if you have not even opened the catacombs. The possible source may be Lanilor, who gives you a teleporter stone when you open the catacombs (after you have freed him). If you don't open the catacombs he does not move to the Blue Boar inn with the rest of the healers (and will eventually get killed when Demona and the orcs invade Aleroth). When you scry for the human council member and then teleport to Aleroth, the game sets up the cutscene with Demona, but apparently has a problem if there are no quest entries for either opening the catacombs or getting the teleporter stone, or the cutscene with Lanilor has not been triggered.

To avoid this problem;

- Load a save made before scrying for the human council member.

- Take the teleporter pad to Aleroth, head to the large statue, and click on each of the smaller statues around it to turn them northward, thus opening the catacombs.

After Lanilor approaches and says he has given you a teleporter stone, return to the council of seven, and head for the room west of the gong, to get the pair of teleporter stones.
You can now leave one teleporter stone at your home base, and teleport quickly back from almost wherever you wish, then return again (drop and use the stone to get back to base, then when you are ready to continue, use the teleporter stone at your base (with it on the ground, click on it) to get back to the one you dropped, drag and drop that teleporter stone into your inventory, and continue exploring).

- If you wish you can now scry for the human council member, or you can first return to Aleroth and finish off the catacombs. You will probably not get any experience for most of the monsters there, but you will for quests (opening sealed locations, etc).

When I noticed the catacombs had not been opened in Apkairan's save I tested if Mardaneus' sanity could still be restored, though to speed things up after entering the catacombs I hex teleported to the bottom level. Apkairan determined that opening the catacombs was all that was required to get the council quest working.

Anyway, at the bottom of the catacombs, when you enter the central room your teleporter stones are disabled. After completing that area and leaving, Mardaneus shows up and provides you with a portal to get back to town. I don't know if it was because I skipped a bunch of stuff in the catacombs or because the catacombs were opened after entering the council hall, but Mardaneus didn't show up. I needed to return to town, hex teleport into his house and talk to him to complete the quest to restore his sanity.
Originally I talked to the imp to get the teleporter stones before opening the catacombs, and after restoring Mardaneus' sanity, they were disabled. I had not tried them before then, and do not know if they were disabled because I got them before opening the catacombs, or because they were disabled in the catacombs, and were not re-enabled.
