If there is no flame created for the teleporter pad you are at, you can not just re-activate the teleporter pads...

Try deleting all of the files in the '..\Divine Divinity\Run\Dynamic' folder.
This folder is used as a cache for the game. Files are created / copied there from the save game folder when you load, and written / copied from that folder when you save a game. The files will be re-created as required the next time you start Divinity. If there was a corrupt file in that folder, deleting the files should fix the problem.

Do you have any older saves you can re-load, to see if the teleporter pads are working there, or not?


What language version of the game do you have? There is a patch for the English, French and German versions. The English patch can be installed over some other localizations (a couple people have done so to partly get the game into English). See the description at the bottom of the manual install procedure in the Troubleshooting Tips topic.

The troubleshooting tips topic also contains a file verification method, for the English version of the game, which could help determine if the problem was something in the game itself (ie a corrupt or missing file).


How close are you to completing the council quests? Once you trigger the blessing ceremony it is a one way trip to the final area of the game, so the teleporter pads will not matter.

If you need to get back to the council hall (and we can not fix the problem with the teleporter pads) there are a couple possible methods;

FIX for the Missing Catacombs Portal - even if you have the English version of the game, the (temporarily) required file from my save was probably made in a later game version, so you may need the patch installed to use it (trying to load an updated save in an unpatched game can cause a crash).

or

Teleporting Anywhere, via hex editor

Either way you would need to leave one teleporter stone on the ground somewhere, and bring one to the council hall to leave there, so you could teleport back and forth.
