I ran back to the town with Jolie.
There was pandamonium (sp???) when we arrived back. DQueen was in tears, Viper was gone, and Jolie was yelling what happened.
I went over to DQueen, she had done so much for me.
DQueen, i understand why you are so upset. Maybe this is what JVB has to do for a time. We all need our personal space, and maybe this is going to be his time. You are all still a group, just not right at this moment in time.
I think JVB can take better care of himself than you all think, despite his youth.
He will be okay, i can feel it. He will have some close calls, but won't be stupid, he will proceed with caution, after all, he doesn't have others to help him.
I hoped i made her feel a bit better...

[color:"#00CCCC"] I had packed everything I needed, strapped on my bown and ran down the stairs, back to DQueene. When I arrived there I saw Willow, Jolie and Jurak standing next to her.
“Hey all, Can you please meet me in the Inn in 10 minutes??”
They all agreed and went their way. “Are you ok DQueene?”
“I’m fine” she said.

“Are you ready to go? Can I help you pack? No wait, do you know where Womble is? He needs to be there as well”
“I think I saw him going to that food store over there”, she pointed to a store a few houses further down the road.
“I’m sorry I can’t help you pack but this is important”. I ran to the store, stumbled on Womble as he just came out and fell. “HAHAHAaaaa, say Womble can you meet us in the Inn in 10 minutes?”

“Ok Viper” he said.

10 minutes later they were all there: Jurak with his rat, Willow next to Jolie, Womble (his boar stood outside) and DQueene next to me.
“Ok”, I said, “We all know that jvb left, I wanted to go after him but as I was packing something told me that our quest lies somewhere else for the time being. I have the feeling that we, those who want to join that is, need to solve Jolie’s quest first. I have the feeling it may be more importnt than we think. First of all we need to get that note of his translated so suggestions are mostly appreciated.

[color:"#00CCCC"]I stumbled upon Viper just as wanted to enter the inn. Meet me in 10 min in the inn. I agreed. We sat there at a table and Viper said what was going on. "I think we should do Jolies quest first. .... Who's in."

[color:"00cccc"] I sat munching on breakfast. We talked about the plans for the day. "Ok Jolie, do you know anyone in the village who can translate that note for you? If so, go and find them. I'll return shortly."
I went over to see Floyd for a few minutes. I needed to pick up my axe and sell of some of my junk. I sold my throwing axe. It didn't look trustworthy to me...

I tied up a few of the suppies I'd bought to Meatloaf. He was really complaining now. I guess I shouldn't load him up too much. I fed him an orange which he ate in one bite. Jurak told me that Faile had set off to find her companions which was a pity. I bet she would have been a decent travelling companion. We'll see her later I guess.

I went back to the inn to see if Jolie had made any progress. I ordered a beer to pass the time... [/color]

I put Ladystreak back into my makeshift pouch and decided to find my friends
(I also took the food that she had brought, what a good girl)

Well, at least meatloaf was easy to track

I came upon the town wall and was about to decide wether or not to just jump over until the guy (who introduced himself as 'Fred') opened the door and said

"you had might as well go in, they told me there would be more"

I guess Jolie is well liked here!

I saw the group and trotted up.

"Whats going on?"

He came walking through the town gates.
He asked what was going on.
In Elvish i told him all that had transpired.
I told him that JVB had left us for a time, he had a personal quest he had to do.
I told him about Jolie's wife's soul not being at rest, and the starnge piece of parchment he had found in his house. It was a clue to how she died, but first we had to find someone who could read the old language.
We were on our way to do that, and then to help Jolie solve the problem. He needed to put his love's spirit to rest.
I asked him if he would be going us...

I was glad we would be going soon. There was not enough space and magic here for an elf...[color:"#00CCCC"]

"People, I’m leaving tomorrow evening, please all be at the market place by dawn"
I went outside and out the village into the nature. I flew off to cover some ground to see how the environments looked like, where we could go, where we could hide etc… I saw a nice cave about 2hrs away from the village to the West we can hide here the first night. I’ll scout further when the others are asleep, can’t seem to feel responsible for the whole group somehow
I flew back, landed, put my cape back on and reentered the town. It was highnoon and my stomach was rambling. I went to the foodstore to get some fruits and bread and a bit of meat. As I went back to the Inn I ran into Jolie, Willow and DQueene. They saw the food I bought….. [/color]

[color:#a0a0ff]I decided that I must find Kiya with the others in the scouting group. She has been kind to me and I felt that I would be best served by my speed with this group. I worried about my comrades though because I knew that their taks was equally dangerous. I remebered something from my youth.

I knocked and a young lady opened. "Hmm i'm sorry, i must have missed from adress. I thought his was the house were i met an old lady. Pardon me i'll go now."

"Wait!" she said. "You are right, the old lady is my grandmother. Come on in."
She showed to a little room in the back. The old lady sat in a rocking chair near the fireplace.
"Hello again Jolie."
"Hello, lady. How are you doing."
"Fine, fine. But i cant translate the letter for you."
How did.... "Do you know someone who can?"
"Oh yes. My sister can."
I smiled. "And were is your sister?"
"She lives in a cave a few hours away from town. Be carefull though, she doesnt like visitors mutch."
"Well, if want to know whats on the note i dont have mutch choice do i."

"One last thing." "Yes??" "Get you some anti-venom."
"Why???" "You find out soon. Just make sure you have some."

I left the house and went strait for the medicineman, brother Ezechiël.
"Hello, brother. Do you have some anti-venom??"
"Hello, Jolie. What kind of anti-venom?"
"I dont know. An old lady told me to take some with me."
"Oh i see. Just a moment."
He went to the back and came back with a small potion.
"Here you go. But be carefull, its very strong. Only use it in emergencies."
"Why??"
"It heals the sickness, but drains fatigue and strenght. You wont be able to do anything for at least 2 hours."
"Ok, thanks."

I left the pharmacie and went back to the inn to report my findings.

"I found out who can translate the note. But there is one small problem, she lives in a cave a few hours away from town. But i dont know witch direction. This looking for a needle in haystick. But hen again its our only option." [/color]

As everyone except me and Luc left for the town, I wanted to follow them, They diguised thimselfs, but I, I cannot due to my tattoo's over all my body, even my little tones were tattood, no way to hide this all, all the time.

Luc seemed to be fast asleep, so I Stayed with him, maybe when he wakes up We can do something about my inability to conversate with thoe others.

Everything was so peacefull, birds singing songs about the sun and trees. A cat planning with himself how he would get to the birds singing songs, and silence them forever, in his stomach. A squirrel estimating the next winter [color:"#CCAA66"] I have 20 sunrises before nuts dissapear, 60 sunrises then I'll take a very long nap [/color]

night came and morning followed, I was so occupied listing to nature, I didn't notice Luc leaving all of the sudden. Only when a bird said [color:"#CCAA66"] Hey pal, quit daydreaming and get on your long legs, your buddy left you all alone [/color].
I looked down and saw what was not Luc but only an imprinting of his body in the fresh grass, he couldn't left long ago, wind would have straighten the grass. As them others left to the west, I went west to untill I sah Luc entering a town.

to find the sun had moved well along it's path in the sky,
feeling hungry....
he went into the inn for lunch, where he found his furry friend womble......
they sat and chatted and laughed,while they scoffed down their meal........
throwing tiny tidbits to the rat Fe......
which it gobbled up like a famished little rodent!
Hey we better get to my sled and make sure that we are ready,

with the completion of their meal, they stood and left,

"Hmmpf!" Moaned Jurak, "Me not like pulling my sled again!"
"I'm sure we'll find something else to haul it. I remember an old dwarven principle of 'steam power' but I've no idea how it goes together."
"Sounds funny!" Laughed Jurak, so loudly that the walls shook. "BRUAHAHAHAHAHA! Steam power!"
"Laugh it up you green lummox! Bet you've never seen a dwarven steam tank eh?"
"Once... It didn't work though. Back in the army we found what had been a great battle-site! Dead orcs and dwarves everywhere! We never knew who won. I remember a dead orc, he had a big round hole in him!"
"That's from a cannon. They're loud! Like a bigger version of my boomstick!"
"Hmmm. Mighty weapon. Mighty indeed!"

Jolie came through the door. "Sit down my friend..." I said. "Did you find out the secret of the note yet?"
"No. He shook his head mournfully. I do know where to find she who can read it now! Just outside of town there is a cave, in it can be found an old woman who knows the older tongues. She doe not take kindly to strangers and for some reason I was given this anti-venom."

"So lets go then!" I said.
"Of course! Only...."
"What?"
"I don't know what direction the cave lies in..."
"Hmmm. Maybe Viper can give us an arial view"

With that I went off to find him. I grabbed a big pork leg for meatloaf. Pigs don't care what they eat....

i was walking down a long road, i passed some fields, with cows and horses, and some with crops on them..

eventually i saw it before me.. It looked like a town, a rather large one on first sight also..

I prepared to walk towards the gate, but then it struck me : the wanted poster!! ppl were still looking for us, looking for me..
i cant just walk in there like its nothing.

i must disguise myself.. properly.

so i turned around, looking for something to disguise myself with.

i walked back, i was getting tired of all the walking.. the intense heat played a big role as well..

i decided to eat something before i would go any further.
once it has been a long time since you last ate, nothing beats a piece of bread <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
it was DE-LI-CIOUS.
then i remembered, i have seen some scarecrows a while back.. That shure would be a great disguise <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

i'm gonna be a beggar <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

so i ran towards a scarecrow and took over its clothes, leaving my own behind (a beggar cant travel with fancy clothing now can he?)

I looked terrible.. there was something missing..
i know, i'll just create some more stains <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />. i thought, looking at a couple of pigs which were nearby <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" />
piggies always have mud pools <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/badsmile2.gif" alt="" /> and i ran towards them ( and scared the hell out of the poor beasts as well..)
and jumped into the mudpool.

mud feels funny i thought.

but people can still recognize me by my face, and haircut, i oughta doe something about that too... i thought looking around for any ideas...

"This paper" he said, "The only one who can translate it lives in a cave about 2 hrs walking from own, but I don't know which direction to go. can you scout the air??"

I smiled at him, "I already did, I was looking for a place to sleep tomorrow night and found a cave to the west of here. I thought it was a good place to sleep, I didn't know it was inhabited. Do you want me to fly you over there or do you prefer to walk and think things over?" [/color]

[color:"#00CCCC"]"It would be nice if you could check it out. See if there is something weird or so. I'll go on foot and try to figure how to ask her, cause she doesnt like visitors." (to the others) "Whoever wants to come, now is the time. Lets go. Viper, show us the way!"[/color]

I could feel Dragh searching for me, one lonely elf to another.
I thought we could always use another with some magic abilities.
Through my mind, I told him we were heading west, just leaving the town.

I enjoyed the feeling of the grass between my toes, my spirits were much higher now. I felt more alive now...

Viper soared like an eagle. It must be such a feeling, to fly up in the clouds.

I looked over to Jolie, he had such a look of determination in his eyes, and his heart had lightened. Soon we would meet this women that can help him and his dead wife once and for all. But, what would she be like????

I wnet outside, ran to the gate and took of my cloak once I was outside. "Look Jolie" just keep going to the west, there isn't always a road and you'll have to climb sometimes but it's straight ot the west. I'll fly ahead to the cave and check up on you guys after I scouted the surroundings of the cave"

I took off as fast as I could, flying just over the treetops not to be noticed by the town people. When the cave was I my sight I landed and watched to spot places where I could take off when I was in danger... I was lucky, the area was lightly forrested so I wouldn't have a lot of problems.

The ground was strange, some sort of grind lay there and my footprints, no mather how carefull I walked were in the grind... easy to spot/follow intruders I thought. I looked around and saw nothing of interst except for some carcasses... something must have caused this not 1 bone was broken so they had to be eaten by a beast that didn't need to brake bones... like a snake or something similar. I looked into the cave, yelled

"Hellooo....." nothing
but then "Helloo..." It scared the bejeezes out of me, my heart missed a few strokes but it was still there... "HAHAHAHAAA, the echo offcourse"

I flew back (high in the sky and roared like an eagly to let them know I was coming) to Jolie and the rest and reported what I saw
"Nothing in particular except for the bones and the grind. other than that, the area seemed deserted. maybe she needs to be summoned or there might be a hidden entrance. whatever the case I think it's up to you Jolie to find out.

While in town I had heard that JVB had run away. I believed that he needed my help, as well as the possibility of finding Kiya inticed me to set off right away. There were many advatages to traveling among the trees. I was able to scout out JVB almost immediatly. I had decided to have some fun. As I watched JVB change clothes I almost laughed when he sat down and started scratching his head. I was about to pounce when lady streak gave me away with a loud (well relativly) *meow*
JVB looked up and I was caught

"what are you doing?"

"damn, I thought I had you"

I looked down at ladystreak, and if I didn't know better she was smirking at me.

[color:"00cccc"] I paid my dues to the inn and we set off to the cave following Viper's directions. Jurak was grumbing about pulling along his sled. "I could put some wheels on it if you like." He just grinned at me. "This is best exercise I've had in days! I was getting big orc belly!" I laughed, Jurak's humour always amused me.

Viper had reported back that he had found a skeleton outside the cave. Perfectly preserved too. Poisonous creatures? Snakes, Spiders and so on. Probably..... I was used to spiders from the caves back home..... wherever that was but snakes.....I hate snakes.

Looks like it won't be long now... I trotted ahead on Meatloaf to find a path down there. You don't need to consider these things when you can fly...
