i healed him and now he is just standing there, i want his ring really bad.

Have you gone to Verdistis yet? He approaches in a cutscene as you get close to a certain house.

Did you heal both soldiers?

If you have been to Verdistis, there may be something else you need to do first, like maybe complete the escort quest, or something.

ya i am in verdistis. and he isn't showing up, so i teleported back to aleroth and he is standing right in otto's room, "doh" i said to myself.

i will try to go to general alix and see if that will help, i have the verdistis teleport activated so it won't take much time to come back here once i talk to alix.

could it be that you have to trigger a certain chat option with him or something?

nope just tested it, you HAVE TO complete the escort healers quest(by talking to alix)

if it fails(after you get invitation to the castle?) or if you don't complete it, verlat will not appear when you go to verdistis.

surprised this isn't mentioned in ANY walkthrough available online.

Just to confirm, you will fail the escort quest if you complete one of the other quests that give you an invitation to the castle first.

I don't recall anyone in the forum discovering or mentioning that failing the escort quest will prevent Verlat from moving to Verdistis.
