Did you check the '..\Divine Divinity\Run\static\imagelists' folder, and see if the 2 files listed in the error message exist?

CPackedb.0c should be 79,360,274 bytes (75.6MB), while CPackedi.0c is 403,648 bytes (349KB). You may have to right click on the file and select Properties or something to check the exact size (have not used Vista).

There is a file verification procedure in the Troubleshooting Tips (& manual install procedure) topic, though there may be an easier way to check the files in question.

Download this zip file (17KB) and extract the contents into your 'Divine Divinity' folder. It contains the program DVDsig and an md5 file created from a clean install of DD and the 1.34 patch (after starting DD and exiting). An md5 value is similar to the CRC-32 value (cyclic redundancy check) used in zip files to test the integrity of the compressed files (the CRC value is calculated when each file is compressed and again when extracted; if the values differ, then the files themselves are different, and the zip file corrupt).

In Windows Explorer, browse to the 'Divine Divinity' folder and run the DVDsig.exe program (it should work in Vista, AFAIK). In the program window, click on 'Verify' (top left, on the menu bar). The program will then scan your DD folder and report any differences compared to my md5 file. Of course configuration files and anything system dependent will most likely be reported as 'invalid', but in this case we are particularly interested in the files mentioned in the error message.
In a couple minutes when the program finishes, select the results in the text window and copy them into a reply here.

Some re-release versions of DD may already be updated to the latest 1.0034A version, as shown in the bottom right corner of the main menu, so would not need to be patched. Installing the patch over an already updated CD version will not hurt anything, though.
The DVD version is already updated, and the patch (designed for the CD version) should not be installed.
