i walked next ko kiya and noticed her looking into my eyes.
"I dont know what happened too.." I said
"Without any apparent reason they changed."
Kiya just smiled.
She must know more about this.

"Do you know how this could have happened?"

"Hey jvb, Luc and Dragh, it's GREAT to see you all again!!", I tossed the little guy in the air, don't you go running of alone again without telling us ok <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/winkwink.gif" alt="" />

Ok kiya, maybe we should start gathering everybody in the castle's court and try to get the sled there. I'd suggest that we stay the night, it's a little over noon now so we'll have a nice rest till tomorrow morning. Maybe Womble and Jurak can try to make something to hang bahind the sled so it can carry more equipment for all of us, so that the ones walking don't need to carry to much weight. What do you think??"

We started walking inside........

"Hmmmmm, well I have a hunch - but I guess you should ask DQueene for this. And Jvb, don't stare too much at her skin, ok? She's in the castle, one floor higher, just go up to her. I'm sure, she'll be very glad to see you," I smiled.

Then I remembered something:

"Oh, Luc," searching in my satchel,"I've got something for you."

I gave him my spell book - a bit battered.

"Shheeesh, I'm sorry, the first 3 pages are torn out - someone was in need for a toy," remembering the little imp playing ship and captain, " but the rest is perfectly fine - hope, you find it useful? I've lost my magical abilities, due to the crystal shard in my heart - ah, no time for this now - please, take it."

He turned the book in his hands - cleaned it a bit with his cloak and put it away.

"If I wouldn't know better - I'd have guessed, LadyStreak played with it," he mumbled.

"Perfect idea, Viper - just try to rip those looters away from their treasure - and good luck with this," I grinned.

Then we entered the castle again - Luc, Jvb, Dragh, Viper and me.

"Ok then, i will ask dqueene. Cant wait to see her again too."
And i ran to the next floor, almost tripping over something in my enthousiasm.

"queeny you never guess what happ-
Wow you shure have changed as well..
You look beatifull, in a strange way.
What happened to you?"

i stood there, dazed by the changed appearance of dqueene.... It looked familiar.. trusted...

jvb took off running towards DQueene.

I felt the pain coming again, in my stomach area this time, it came fast and hard, I put my hands on my stomach and grinded my teeth. I knew my face was in pain, I couldn't hide it anymore

GOT to get out of here, can't hide it anymore, the time to tell the others will come sooner than I thought, I oonly hope DQueene won't be to crushed by it.. GOT TO LEAVE NOW, CAN'T STAND THE PAIN

I ran off as fast as I could into a side of the castle I knew nobody was, I went to the deepest dungeon and shouted, long and hard.... VERY hard

My head whirled around - there was something in Viper's voice, a gasp, an edge... I saw, his face was a greenish pale, sweating and the jaw muscles were working, he turned away very quickly... what was wrong???
And even his movements seemed to be out of order - stiff and jerky... what was he hiding?I frowned.

As soon as he's back, I'm going to ask him, I decided - still frowning - and wished Hypatia was here. Then I heard a stifled cry, very faint from somewhere - someone in great pain...

Did I pronounce "is" good enough for them to understand?

I grinned, saw Luc trying to grope for words and left both gentlemen to their discussion of body needs, civilisation and toilet... leaves <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif" alt="" />

"Well, LadyStreak, pay great heed, you're going to learn something for life," I chuckled and patted Luc's pet on the head.

Into the hall, up the stairs and I saw DQueene, Jvb and LaShandra in a heated discussion.

"Jvb, how dare you wander off alone - I was nearly out of my mind with worries. Silly boy," giving him a playful punch and hugging him. Then DQueene peered at him closely."Ha, you, too?" Stroking her scales absentmindedly. Then she turned to Viper - her expression changed she's as worried as I am...

"Another dragon in the group, interesting," vampire LaShandra put in and turned her black eyes intensly on the youth, "wonder which element you will represent? I'm LaShandra, what's your name, young one?"

I saw Jvb turn pale, he was bewildered. His slitted lizard eyes widened...

As I came back I stumbled upon DQueene
she mus have felt my pain. damn, I can't delay it much longer anymore

"Are you ok?" she asked, "I can feel your pain Viper, please tell me what's wrong, I'm very worried about you, please tell me, don't let me in the dark on this one"
"Tonight" I said, "Tonight, I'll inform all of you at the campfire. Now I got to find Womble and Jurak, smash their into each other, and I mean that literally, and get them to set their priotrities straight: 1st the group, THEN gold and richdom. Then they can start the campfire, it seem to darken already"

So I went into the dungeons to find the gold-maniacs to teach a nice lesson with a potion that kiya brewed when she still had her magic. She said it might be needed one day and I felt that today was that day.....

"eh..I...wel..."
"His name is JVB, he has been with us from the beginning but recently he had left." dqueene said on my behalf, noticing i was unable to speak.
"A loner are you?" LaShandra said "interesting.."

I stumbled: "What do you mean, another dragon?
What element?
Can someone esplain me whats going on?
am i dreaming this?"

LaShandra and DQueene exchanged looks...
"Look,Jvb," DQueene took Jvb by the shoulders and lead him to a mirror. "Look, what do you see?"
Jvb stared a long time into his reflection:

"I'm... not... human?"

"No... and... yes, Little one. You have a dragon self. DQueene has at last found her silver frost dragon and is working on this - though she doesn't seem very happy, right?" DQueene scowled at LaShandra. "Well, and you have the same in yourself, too. Sadly, I can't really recognise to which element you belong - but - have you ever felt the need to explode and felt something hot wanting to burst out? And no, you're not dreaming - you have the choice if that what is imprisoned in yourself will turn out to a nightmare for others or yourself - or you will find a dream come true. Look into the mirror again - concentrate on your eyes..."

I looked in the mirror, staring at my own eyes.
They looked horrible and beatifull at the same time.
could this be true, could i really have a inner dragon self? But dragons are horrible creatures aren't they? they kill for pleasure and..... FLASHBACK: "You are a murderer, you have killed many people." thats what the old woman said... could my dragon self have done this?? but why did i became human if i had been a dragon before?? i dont understand anything anymore..

I started to cry..
"I am no murderer <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cry.gif" alt="" /> believe me..
I am affraid of becoming a dragon..
Arent you dqueene?"

This was really getting interesting... I pricked up my ears even more and moved secretly closer, so not to miss anything...

DQueene gave Viper one last worried look and then hugged Jvb, this whimpering fearful bundle.

"Yes - at first I was scared out of my wits - but now I found contact to my inner healer dragon - and I tasted the power lying beneath - Jvb, we'll go through this together, don't worry..."

LaShandra shook her head disapprovingly.

"Jvb, your inner dragon will come out - if you want it or not. And if you don't acknowledge this, then you MAY become a murderer. If you make friends with it or respect it, you both can do great deeds for this world, the group and yourself. I don't believe you're a murderer - but some or your and her kin - they've made a choice... Do you want to hear more?"

I looked up at LaShandra, still with tears in my eyes.

"Yes tell me more..What choise? Why did they chose it?"

"Choice? Ha, What can make a dragon greedy and let him lose all virtue? Think of all treasure you like to hoard, how dragon eyes light up if they hear gold, gems and special artefacts... See? Look at DQueene's eyes..." LaShandra pointed at her - DQueene had the decency to blush. Then the vampire lady continued:

"Treasure can win every dragon's heart, specially if combined with a very very special object. This was the scheme of Ena B'No Gard - one of the Doom wizards. He promised you dragons - the frost and fire ones - he would give you the [color:"yellow"]Egg of Eternity[/color] - if they would erase out every city, town and village that would threaten his power. In your case, Jvb: The fire dragons caused a lot of murder and grief - they are fierce, very fierce warriors - relentless and loyal if they have chosen one side - sadly enough, this time a very evil side. Do you still want to hear more?"

I was shocked..
"What do you mean in my case??
Why not in dqueenes case?
you dont mean to say that i am one of them evil murderers?
And what is this egg of eternity?

when i spoke that word, a strange feeling rushed trough my veins

"You're a fire dragon, Jvb - can't you feel it? It's so obvious... Look at your eyes, those are fire dragon eyes, see the orange glow coming up? Look into the mirror, you coward!!"

LaShandra sighed, then her voice softened:

"Never thought about why you fight so good and fiercely in one moment and then trip and stumble? Your old human self, the one you had in the world you came from - is now bonded with the fire dragon self. You must have been a very timid boy, Jvb - no wonder, you have these conflicts and bring yourself in danger all the while - acknowledge your fire dragon half and you will rise to great power and might. And your human side can aid you to make better choices than falling for greed and eternity. NO, you are no murderer - but your kin, your fellow fire dragons are - so, find a way to bring them back to the light path. You think, you're too weak for this? Then you'll turn into a nightmare and a threat for this world, all races and your companions

DQueen's case is different - it is not for me to reveal this - she will have to find this out on her own.

And as for the Egg of Eternity - it's a very powerful and ageless artefact - those who possess it can influence everything dealing with time: time stop - time passes quickly - travel through time - name everything and you've got it.

Any more questions, young Fire fledgling?" LaShandra smiled.

"Me? A coward?"

I knew no harm was ment, but feelings of anger rushed trough my veins.

I calmed down.
"I am no coward. I have fought intense battles to save my friends, and myself.

LaShandra laughed heartily - long and loud:

"See now? Feel now? That's the fire dragon self rushing through your veins - you would have liked to hurt me, right? Fire dragons are fierce - very fierce, you need your human self badly to tame and channel it. Don't worry about your lost memory, Jvb - it will come back when time is ripe... patience is another thing your human half can teach the other side," she chuckled. "You can't master your dragon form - you ARE the dragon."

Damndamndamn... this is going to get tricky... yikes....

Jvb changed before my very eyes, a large red shadow emerged from his body and hovered over him, in him, behind him - I saw wings, claws, fangs and orange eyes slowly turning into red - they burned. Both visions shifted - I saw the boy, I saw the dragon - I saw the dragon, I saw the boy.

"JVB... take care..." I screamed and didn't know if I should run up or for cover. DQueene stood there and took a deep breath...

Feelings of immense power..
I was growing, bigger than everyone else now.
They all looked petrified.
More power, getting stronger and stronger.
Pain in my back..
Immense pain, as if things wanted to come out.
"I...Can't.."

And i fell back on the ground, human..
"What happened??"
It became black for y eyes.
