Not all PM's will re-appear, only those which exist in the inbox of either (or both) participants, and both participants (regardless of if they deleted the PM or not) will receive the message back in their inbox.
Sadly, this isn't true. I know for sure that both another user and me had deleted PMs we had exchanged before the software update, and they are back again ... so even PMs that were deleted by both participants have reappeared.
By the way, the "Who's online" list at the bottom of the main page doesn't seem to update properly. In the last few days, it has always shown the same users. If you click on "details", you get an updated list, however.

Reply from the support department at UBB Threads: They're pm's that weren't completely deleted - just delete them now and you'll be fineSorry guys, there's nothing more we can do.

It seems the list at the bottom of the page was updated recently, but it still differs from the list shown when you click on "details". And it doesn't change when I press my browser's Update button. Maybe it can't be updated more often than every few minutes and it's supposed to work like this, though I find it odd that those two lists don't match.

Hmm, what can one do to "completely delete" PMs? I thought it should suffice that both participants delete the PM. It's your forum, I'm just a guest here, and I'm aware that anything private I write here (or in any other forum) might be read by a mod/admin. But if two people share something that they don't want anyone else to read, so they both delete the PM after reading it, it shouldn't pop up again after a software update. To me, this seems like the system keeps data it shouldn't keep. That leads to disk space being used unnecessarily (it adds up for thousands of users) - and to the question where else private data might show up unexpectedly. I do understand if you can't do anything about it, though it makes me feel a little uneasy.

If you click on "details", you get an updated list, however. The one that shows on the main forum is cached; as in it won't always update on every reload. The other (full page) is not cached, and will always display things "live". That's the info I have received from support.

Thanks for the info Now, if the list at the bottom of the page is likely to be inaccurate, I'd rather remove it and just keep the link to the accurate "Who's online" page. Otherwise people might feel tempted to PM other users, thinking they are online when in fact they have already logged out a while ago.

That's the info I have received from support. Same goes for the birthdays at the bottom of the page. Very annoying if you ask me, but apparently they can't solve this... You have your birthday already since several days At least, on my PC it still shows. I didn't notice that yet since I haven't sent any PM since the new software. I'll look into the matter. But can't seem to find that option at the moment.
