[color:"#6699FF"]I stared at the thing standing in front o’ me. I was supposed to ride this thing? Can’t trust anything that don’t got a sail or a rudder. Specially not something that’s got a mind o’ it’s own. The horse looked back at me, and blinked.
“He won’t bite you, Faile, I promise.” Jessica assured me. “Look, he knows the way to the coast and back, and that’s what you need, right? He’ll do it himself; he used to be a supply train horse. Just get on, and he’ll go.” Well, I guess I got no choice. I gave Jessica a hug, and thanked her for her help. Hmm, now how did her purse manage to get in me bag?
To my surprise, I found the motion of the beast was something like the soothing sway of a ship deck. Mayhap this wouldn’t be so bad after all.
Some days later, the salty smell o’ the sea tingled in me nose. At last! Me arsie is crying ta be off this smelly beast. I reckon I got enough gold ta get me started with a crew, an’ a place ta sleep till I get me a boat.
I got off o’ the horse and walked the last stretch of road inta town. As the beautiful harbor came inta view, I stopped dead. Sailing in under full sail was the biggest, grandest, most gorgeous ship I had ever laid me poor eyes on. Right then I knew, she had ta be mine. Now ta find out who owns her, an’ the best way ta’ steal her. I made my way to ‘The Lady of the Sea,’ an inn secretly owned by a pirate, and set up so we had a place where we could safely stay if we needed ta be on shore for any unfortunate reason. I gladly handed off me horse ta the stable boy and went to the common room for a badly needed drink. [color:"#FFFFFF"]
