One of the fun thing in games are the Easter eggs. In recent games this legacy of fun has almost disappeared. I say we can't let this happen.

some suggestions:

- We can kill Lar again ;-). I challenge the developers to put Lar in the game like in div (let him try to find himself :p)

- Some forum names as characters in the game (let's say over 3952 posts is a good threshold )

- A hidden dungeon where you must free the "humans" of Arian being whipped by a vicious Orc (with drums and a whip)

- some spoof scenes

Also what made div great were the little jokes (skeletons, council of 6 and assortment of mages hahaha ). Those silly "monty pythonesque" dialogs are priceless. Personally I like the "hanging a lantern on it" jokes. When the hero is confronted with something so ilogical or an obvious plot device, the hero acknowledges it with a sarcastic tone. Also add some math/physics jokes.

Morbo you suck...I think post count is a crappy threshold... think lets go with join date! Saaay joined in 03

Oh and Morbo...in my brain, where the shame gland should be, there's another awsome gland, true story.

Larians...a well placed instance of breaking the 4th wall for comedic effect can be priceless.

We still need 3 gravestones within div2 !

During the development, 3 forummembers died. I'd like to see an memorial to them in the game.

MeaCulpa...I was sad to read about that. I like that idea, though, Alrik. If it doesn't seem insensitive to ask, who else?

not to be rude, but let's keep a thread title easter eggs & humour away from the morbid parts of life. Agreed tombstones for the passed on members. But I feel akward to touch this topic in this thread.

Too darn morbid, Alrik, frankly. I am NOT in favour. I don't want to get depressed every time I play the game, thanks...

There's a memorial for the victims of the 2001 September 11 attacks in the DD easter egg area. Doesn't ruin the game or depress me, it was touching.

OK, no more morbid talk I promise.

Well, to me it is just part of life.

-Ahem- Turning the topic back to humor...

One thing that made DD quirky and fun was that it was 'conscious' of itself as a game, that is, it didn't take itself so seriously all the time. The easter egg area was the big example of this; another secret, hard-to-get-to area in ED would be fun.

I always like having speech options that are sarcastic, mocking, or otherwise comical. They're almost never the 'best' dialogue option (since characters will often get upset) but sometimes they're so humorous I have to select them to see what happens. I just like the option of having a character who takes nothing or no one seriously.

Ex. To Lanilor the frozen elf: "I don't know...in a few more minutes you'll make a pretty nice ice sculpture."

We have done something similar this time, so no worries.

I want to have an aggressive Orc called "Aggro".

Because this is a term from WOW which I absolutely hate.

This is a good one: I would like to see a comeback of the teleporter stones. If they aren't used in the game as an item you actually use, I really want to stumble upon them somewhere as an easter egg.

Maybe an useless teleporter stone ? wink

"Oh, this artifact ? We dug this out a month ago in the fields. I don't know what it is. Maybe a wise person knows what it is ?"

wink

Or a teleporter stone that takes you to the other one - at the bottom of a lake! Just as the hero in DD feared.
