"And now, in Divinity 2, we’ll learn what Damien did when he got back and how he corrupted the proud race of dragons to kill the Divine one. The latter is immediately the reason why dragons are hated so much in the world of Rivellon and why there are so many dragonslayers."

Bingo! So basically we have dragons as a kind of "fallen race" just as the once-noble orcs were in DD. This could open up all kinds of possibilities for dragon-related quests. Will we possibly encounter noble/uncorrupted dragons? Learn to understand their world of magic and lore? I'm thinking yes.
