I didn't enter the Dark Forest until after clearing most of Rivertown and Verdistis, and going through the castle and the following quests, so did the holy item quest relatively late. The Sword of the Gods was a little better than the Nobleman's sword for me (reloaded for both); playing again I would probably take the Nobleman's amulet instead, as it is relatively easy to find a good sword.
Sword Of The Gods
Durability 24
Charm Quality 1
Damage 71-100
4 Strength
6 Agility
6 Intelligence
4 Constitution
4 Offense
100 Vitality
60 Magic
DeathBlow(3)
LifeDrain(5)
- DeathBlow shakes the screen; had this happened more frequently, I would have had to re-load a previous save, as I found it annoying.
Nobleman's Sword
Durability 12
Charm Quality 3
Damage 71-100
2 Strength
4 Agility
6 Constitution
60 Magic
Life Drain(4)
Stun(5)
lightning Damage(5)
Spiritual Damage(4)
I don't recall what I got when I tried a few times for the holy amulet. I was very tempted by one, which was better than what I had, but since I was using a two handed sword, taking the holy sword allowed me to start using the dragon shield.
Amulet Of Glory - found at the bottom of the Aleroth catacombs, and used for the rest of the game
Durability 10
Charm Quality 2
10 Strength (gold charm, from first dragon rider Zandalor killed, and the only charm I used)
40 Vitality
40 Magic
10 Resistance to Fire
And since I mentioned these above:
Bastard Sword - two handed, from the knight south of Stormfist castle. After getting this I had to go up a level (or was it 2?) and use a gold strength charm before I could meet the strength requirements to equip it.
Durability 22
Charm Quality 4
Damage 68-113
Lightning Damage(2)
Life drain(3)
mana Drain(2)
Shield Of The Dragon
Durability 45
Charm Quality 2
Armour 280
2 Strength
6 Agility
8 Constitution
80 Vitality
20 Resistance to Fire
10 Resistance to Poison
3 Hearing
Elven Stamina +1
Deadly Gift +1
