That is some nice list you made there! And you are right - They are both good swords, the difference is not that big. Do you know if they are the only two really good one-hand swords in the game? I have never come across any that could match the two, but then again - perhaps I didn´t reload enough
I wanted the Sword of the Gods to be really good because I also wanted to use the Dragon shield along with it, since I chose the Amulet over the Sword earlier
I too had to wait quite some time to have the strenght to be able to use the bastard sword as well, and by the time I had the strenght - I had found another weapon I had grown found of ... (Don´t remember which) So I never really used it.

22 to Strenght
26 to Agility

10 Resistance to Lightning

Not bad!
I am quite sure I got it quite late in the game too - after clearing Riverton and Verdistis and having started to explore the dark forest (the elven ruins area)
