Well lets take a look at all this info...

The Xbox 360 processor is made of three PowerPC cores, each one running at a 3.2 Ghz clock speed
NOTE: Xbox (like all other consoles) basically work as super graphics cards, computers are designed to do more then play games, thus the recommendation will be higher then 512mb ram as Windows and other software require RAM to run.

I was looking up the 8800 GT card. They look like they run on pci express 2.0 which is suppose to be almost double the speed of pci express.

My main question would be will the game utilize multi-core processors? If no, then an intel 3.2ghz cure 2 duo would probably do.
If the 8900 or 8950 card is released and your going to build this by the time the game launches, I'd get that instead of the 8800.

Recommended sounds like...
8800gt video card (2x or 4x SLI?)
Core 2 Quad 3.2ghz
1gb-2gb ddr2
8-10gb free disk space (?)
Windows Vista Home Premium SP1 (DirectX 10.1)

Minimal I'd guess might be...
7800gt video card
core 2 duo 2.5-3.2ghz
8-10gb free disk space
1gb DDR2 (go 2gb DDR2/DDR3 for Vista)
Windows XP SP2 and DirectX 9 (you can still buy one, online stores should have them in stock still).

NOTE:
AMD/ATI products usually do better with gaming then Intel. Intel products are better at handeling business applications and some specifically coded software. If need be, MS Office does work on AMD Processors.

AMD/ATI are more hardware compatible. Though Nvidia works well with AMD processors.
Intel/Nvidia are more hardware comatible. Though ATI cards work well with Intel Processors.
Years ago ATI was much better then Nvidia. Nvidia caught up quite a bit and is very good.

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?
