Yes... you're right about the core i7. Though, *sighs* when the hardware hits Singapore, it's going to cost at least a few thousand just for the motherboard and cpu. smirk Heck, q9550/q9650 + mobo can cost up to SGD1.3k - 1.5k right now and that chip was released in March 2008. As to how much the prices will drop? I don't know since I know little about price fluctuations.

As for usb 3.0, I do know it's likely going to be implemented come late 2009 to 2010. But before taking the plunge, I'd like for this technology to mature a little: it'll take time to weed out all the teething problems.

Interesting... you might be right about the EOL thingy, considering that some of the C2 chips were released just 2 to 3 months ago. Though Singapore tends to get lightning strikes many times per year so I doubt the motherboard would last too long. Yeah, a surge protector + UPS help against lightning + less than perfect wiring. Already, I've heard the UPS making clunking sounds a few times: likely evidence it's kicking into action. :p

So in the end, people are upgrading their cpus mainly because of the speed of each core, eh? smile

Edit: Huh... you are right about comps doing a lot of things and thus, needing more power. smile Right... looking at the system specs, it seems like yeah... a 4850 will be able to handle this game. smile
