Then there should be a skill check to dexterity or an skill to earn hearts properly (or fur or whatever maybe a hunting skill or something like that) or at least a fucking text box that tells you why the heart has been destroyed. But as you cant dismember anything or crush the bodies to pieces there is no logical reason for not dropping a heart.
