From what i could gather, the only international visibility on D2 (outside of germany) is on facebook/tweeter and youtube.
You forget some RPG news and a few other News sites.
RPGWatch has lots of information on it, and I know from a few articles from other sites as well, although ot many.
True, i forgot about that, sorry. RPGwatch is on my favorite bar for a long time now.
On the bottom line, i think a RPG fan will sooner or later find info about D2, while a less RPG "educated" one will probably miss it, or only with luck will "stumble" upon it (on non-german market that is) if the game would be released now in the US for example.
