I know that I went to Gamestop toady to preorder various titles (This and Dragon Age among them) and Gamestop wasn't even allowing for pre-orders yet.

The game isn't even in their system, which is a bit strange.

Thats because a Publisher hasn't been announced.

Oh really? I didn't know that. Well, in that case, I doubt we'll see this game this year then. Even though it's done, any sane publisher would advertise the game as much as possible.

I can see this as being a late 2009 holiday game, since most "big" titles are being released in the beginning or before November.

But that's just this little ladies opinion. <3

You will see this game this year.
In September 2009.
If you read the first pages of this thread.
An Announcement is expected/rumored to come this week during GamesCom.
Keep an eye on the forums.

I have been at the GamesCom, but I can't say anything new about it, sorry.

At least I know from dtp Betty that Lar seems to have been very busy. smile

There has been no official statement about a release in the US. I asked Claas Wolter about it on Thursday.
There is no information about a release in the BeNeLux. Claas did not know when it would be released there.
For the UK, Claas mentioned that it should be released in October. Only after the talk I realized Claas did say 'should' and not 'will'. It was too late to ask him what he meant with that.

October.:o
If true that sucks.
I would be playing Risen then frown
They should be sticking to September!!
Then again he's from DTP and might not know much knowledge on the situation?
I think I'll stick to my what was said on Facebook and Class did say Soon

I'm kind of getting tired of waiting for this game.

I hope theres a Press Release Soon.
I seriously don't know why its taken them so long to get a Publisher sorted.

The problem is that him using the word 'should' could mean it is going to be released in September or October, or even later than that.

Yep.
Sad isn't it.
I was seriously hoping for September as its a free month in terms of games I want.
It could be still happening though wink

I don't know, we'll see. And the date hasn't been set in stone or anything.

Honestly, with there not being a publisher (or at least one announced) yet, I honestly think it won't come in September or even October for the US.

And besides, while I hate to wait for the game, Holiday 2009 just make sense! :P

If publishers are making too many demands like CDV forcing them to go with "Divine Divinty" instead of Divinity: Sword of Lies they are probably telling them to piss off. I would.

A press release would be nice to have.

It is a shame DTP couldn't publish the English version, US can always import the game from England or the UK.

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?

THQ was the North American publisher for Drakensang.

Ah okay, thanks.

Well, Drakensang was pretty popular in the USA with the "hardcore" RPG crowd, so to speak. I'm sure the same will happen with Divinity 2. Many RPG fans across the pond fondly remember Divine Divinity.

This USA guy here (me!) thinks Divine Divinity was great.

Since there is no pre-orders or advertising for it in the UK I doubt Larian has signed on the dotted line with a publisher.

I am speculating that the UK wont see a release till Nov / Dec time sadly. Certainly when you factor in printing of the manuals, and manufacture of the English disc + packaging I would say at least a 30-45 day lead time.

We know CDV is publishing in the USA for December now.
So, we know it's definitely coming -- and soon! -- in English!

So, I think maybe they just need to ink a deal w/ someone out in UK?
That's if they haven't already and it just ain't been announced yet; who knows.
Only time will tell.

Does CDV publish in the UK?
