You need to look for the differences between one side and the other. There is a small item that is found on one side of the room, but not on the other. When you find it, pick it up.

I'm not going to spoil it any further, it's best for you to solve this puzzle or you'll feel like an idiot.

At least it isn't a flake of dust....

Every time there I run into trouble on the road, there is always a dwarf at the bottom of it. Don't they know how to drive above ground?
