i'm stuck in the burial grounds..a portal appeared after i killed a demon..i think it was josephine..i went through that portal and ended up back to the cave entrance..i have rounded up 6 of the council members and the elf was my last one..now i'm not sure how to complete the quest..please help

Maybe you have to talk to zandalor and then hit the gong

Go back to where you were before entering the portal. Pick up all the ceremonial items on the ground - including the staff, and then talk to Bronthion. The portal makes it hard to pick them up without going through it.
