Okay I do sincerely apologise if this is very inappropriate to ask.
I like this game and I just finished it and boy did it take FOREVER!
Anyway, I want to play a second round through but I usually like to find some sort of trainer or something like that to make it a little easier and to just explore everything and try do every single quest without taking too long.
As such, no trainer exists, well none that I've been able to come across. Same goes for save-game editors.
So I used cheat engine, only to find that i.e. when I did find the mp (or mana) value, freezing it did not actually freeze it etc.
So I was wondering if there is anyway to sort of edit it. I know of the item duplicate trick but I was hoping for something like experience or skill points. I did search the forum and found an approach to v1.44 but since I have v1.49 it doesn't seem to work anymore.
Is there any possibility of still being able to do something similar? I know of the starting character trick as well, but I don't like making my character super buff from the get go.

Anyway hopefully this is received well, otherwise let me know and I'll be sure to not do it again and will gladly delete this post or something if possible.

Okies so thanks to everyone in advance who took the time to read this.

*keeping my fingers crossed*

AFAIK the procedures in the topic Hex editing - gold, experience, stat/skill points still work find in 1.49 for stat/skill points, etc (not sure about gold). If that's what you tried I can double check the procedure, but I'm pretty sure I've used it successfully since the 1.47/1.49 patch.

If Larian had a problem with cheating, or stuff that could be used to cheat, I'd have been banned long ago. biggrin

hey thanks Raze ^_^
Okay so maybe I have my configuration wrong. I have the program XVI32. What should my options be? Maybe I have that wrong which is what is leading me to the incorrect places.

Thanks for speedy reply, really appreciate it and the warm welcome too smile

The default column width in XVI32 is 17 (for some strange reason), so if you don't change that to 16 in the options, it will throw off any directions that count up or down a certain number of rows.

Okay because I did change it to 16, and it still doesn't look anything like where it should be according to the post of the picture.
I end up on the line 383E60 and the actual text string that I search up ends up looking like this (0 representing the random characters I see since I don't know how to type them):
000000000000000P
artyV1.0 16-03-2
004000000000000

I don't know if that helps at all or if that was silly of me to just type that here. My number of columns is 16, my number of rows is default set at 19.

I also assume to change it you go to edit and choose on "overwrite string"...

Sorry for my total lack of practicality, I'm sure its quite simple to follow really, I'm just quite stupid.

OMG lol okay so sorry Raze, I'm total noobness. I wanted to edit my skill points but didn't actually pay attention that I was in fact editing my stat points hahaha.

So every time I finished editing it, I just loaded the game, hit K and then saw that I still had the same amount of skill points. I randomly hit I and then saw heaps of stat points and then it clicked.
Sorry I have a slow light bulb, and it dimly lights if that.

Wow well I'm clearly stupid as I just have proved.

Thanks for being so awesome lol smile
