bioware? never heard of it.. The game company itself is called Black Isle, not Bioware, which may explain this confusion. Bioware designed the Infinity Engine - the system used by all Black Isle CRPGs

Guys, the thread is about "Will there be a Divine Divinity expansion pack?" - not that I'm gonna comment on this one - but please go to the chat forums to chat. I see it more and more that threads are ending because of chat-messages, which I really regret. Please try to pay attention to it.

Well, Lynn, it's rather hard staying on-topic when there's nothing to say about it, right? So I'm afraid you'll have to give us a hint Don't worry, we're very easy on this one, just a "yes" or "no" would do.
Of course we could talk about Freud's theories concerning expansion packs, because it would probably have a bad character. You see, on the one hand the expansion would love it's mother, while on the other hand it would feel that the mother would get more attention and be more important. This would probably traumatize the young boy and would result in a suicidal ending of the game. I'm afraid the Itnernational Human Rights Campaign would stand up against that and protest on the streets of Eine. So, no expansion coming up according to Mr. Freud. On the other hand, Freud might just be plain wrong. If we listen to Kant, we'd come to the conclusion that there's one in the pipeline. Because we can only experience what we are made to experience, the only new Larian game we could see should be based on the old one. Of course Kant's theories are subject to discussion, but I'm pretty sure he would agree that there will be an expansion soon. Then we have Bertrand Russel. Infinity is not the same as infinity and yet it is the same. By logical deduction we come to the conclusion that Divinity might not be the same as Divinity. So it's pretty obvious we're getting a sequel instead of an expansion. Einstein would just have one thing to say about this whole discussion: E = m*c˛. Translated this would result in: Expansion = maybe * (speed of light)˛ So... no, Einstein would say that the chance we're getting an expansion is rather small.
With all respect to these scientists and philosophers... but I trust larian more on ths one

From my professional point of view , Hyrrix' post was probably one of the more on topic replies yet made in this topic! (and possibly, the whole forum )
From my professional point of view *shrug* I also have to agree with Lynn (and Arhu, in that other thread)... It's a little over the edge

The only thing I wanted to make clear is that there's nothing to say about this subject until we know more. It's like the dozens of "multiplayer"-threads we're getting here every month. As long as there's no new information we can only have content/design-discussions, most of them purely hypothetical. But that should go in the threads meant for that purpose. Threads like this one better just die until we have more info, there's no point in keeping them alive with chat-room-spamming (no offense intended to anyone).
I'm sure Larian will release more info when they're ready? In the meantime I agree with Lynn to reduce the amount of spam on the forums. There's a chat room and there are Private Messages for personal discussions.
(thanks for the compliment Kejero )
edit: just to get on topic a bit, what would you guys prefer to see: a brand new RPG, a sequel to Divinity or an expansion for Divinity? I think I'd go for a brand new one.

I can only agree completely with you Hyrrix, but I'm afraid that (like in the old forum) MP topics will keep on coming and there's not much we can do about it until the Larians let us know something

Absolutely. you = Bioware (game company, yes!) did develop Baldur's Gate 1/2 and the Infinity engine. Black Isle (which co-developed the BG series) used the IE in IWD 1/2 and Planescape. Btw, look out for Lionheart from Black Isle and Reflexive. Might be the next DD? It not, at least i can enjoy it until the sequel (DD that is...) comes out:)

i don't think Larian is going to make anything else for Divine Divinity. I hear that they might be making a Divine Divinity 2 though.
