Consoles have a default setting, so worry not.
As for single core processor gameplay; I tested it on a P4 @ 3.4 ghz, 1 Gb ram and a EN8500GT PC and tryed it at 1280x1024 resolution, and here are the results:
Extreme settings; 5 FPS, looks great but is unplayable
High; more than 5 FPS, but still unplayable.
The Single Core optimised settings were horrible and unplayable aswell.
SO i lowered the resolution to 1024x756.
Extreme - unplayable
High - unplayable
Single core optimised - playble, but with only tree and shadow quality on low.
Oh, and loading takes 2-3 minutes and movies, yes i said movies, lag like hell.
So if you want to play Divinity 2 Ego Draconis, get a decent Dual core processor and at least a 8600 or equivalent.
