Nah, I doubt it got hosed, since the game puts new setting files in the Profile folder as soon as it's started. I can't really say that it was connected specifically to widescreen, as my current setting for the game is for 1680x1050.
I haven't yet tried reinstalling and installing. I probably should, just to be on the safe side.
