Hi there,

I have just installed the game and am having some troubles getting it running. Every time I try and load it comes up with a window saying "The data is incompatible with this version.". I've read the stickied thread about the updating of drivers and installing DirectX 9c off the installation disc, but this doesn't seem to help.

I guess I'll post my computer specs as they might help...

Windows 7 64bit
AMD Athlon X2 240 (2.80 GHz)
4GB ram
Nvidia Geforce 9800 GTX+

Any help would be appreciated.

This sounds more like an installation problem than the configuration.
Try un-installing the game, reboot, shut down all non-essential programs (especially anti-virus) and then re-install it.

That could be why, my dvd drive might be kicking it, it seems lately that installation discs seem to have errors while installing. I usually just eject the disc wait 10 seconds and insert it again, and it usually works... but it might not be in this case.

Ok just an update, I ended up reinstalling, had about 3 errors on the disc while installing... but the game is starting and running fine.

Thanks for the help smile

If you have problems later with the game, those 3 errors may have caused corrupt or missing files. You don't need to worry too much about it if everything runs fine, though.

My brother had a laptop with an optical drive that would only recognize a disk about 50% of the time, requiring an eject/insert to try again. Once it detected the disk, though, it didn't have any problems reading it.
With random errors when installing, you may want to check your RAM, as well. I had a piece go bad a couple years ago, with the only symptom being DVD-Rs failing to verify after burning, at first occasionally, then getting progressively worse (at first I assumed a new/cheap brand of DVD-Rs were at fault...).
