.... You don't need to keep your AV on all the time.
If you don't run strange software like MSN... IRC and other things that can give acess to your PC. It is safe to run a complete scan with your AV then after it remove ALL suspicious things... even if you think they are safe... just let the AV delete all suspicious files, then just DISABLE the AV.
Always connected to Internet don't mean that hackers can get to you. I recomend that you let your AV on (firewall and services scan), but disable the ability that it has to scan all the files in realtime, it make all games slower since it first scan the files before giving it to the games.
