I've pulled the lever and watched a cut scene of magic door opening but when I got to it it's still closed by magic barrier.

Let me take a wild guess, you are referring to the barrier door after having a conversation with the stitched up sassan right? For that door, you need 2 lever to open it, 1 lever open the lock, while another 1 take off the magic barrier on the door.
