Could someone tell me roughly how many malachite gems are in the game please. Am wondering whether to use some of the 3 I have now to enchant kit, or should I save them for when ive higher lv kit? Am lv 29 and half way through the Fjords.

u can take back enchantments by your enchanter when changing armor and weapons... i think one gets back ressources then doesnt one?

so i always enchanted my items when i found a good one...and took back enchant when change
and if i need gems i send one of my guys for it ^^ just get them best weapon and armor and
theyre successful quite often

Unfortunately my runners cant get Malachite Gems, just the ore.

I tried unenchanting an item I just used one in but didnt get it back unfortunately.

The gems are used in the tier 10 recipes, and as the runners cant get them, (and ive only found 3 so far), I assume their very limited. Dont want to upgrage a weapon now and not be able to upgrage one later in game.

You wont get back your ingredients when undo any enchantment, but you will learn that enchantment you disenchant if you havent learn it.

I dont know the total of malachite gems in the game, but now I only left keara's fortress and hall of echoes havent explore yet, and got 8 malachite gems in hand. There a quest which required to turn in 2 malachite gems, but I havent go pick it up yet. If I complete it, then will have total of 6 in hand. Well I keeping them for enchanting lvl10 healing aura in accessories.

I am not sure but somebody mentioned 15 or 16. I got 4 from quest in High hills found 2 in a cave with books and 2 or 3 in grave robbers cave. You can also get 2 from Khan but it will cost you dearly.
Remember, you have to give 2 gems to philosopher in exchange for 2 skill points.
You’ll definitely not get back any resources from disenchantments and charms are permanent

I bought 2 from a merchant in Broken Valley village, get 1 from waking up the 3 sleeping dude in broken valley, 4 from high hills quest and another 1 from mind reading the goblin under the ancient tree.

Bout the grave robber cave you mentioned, is it the bout the quest grave robber where you collect 2 quest item from dead body and meet another 2 outside the cave, after going in and found that its a stupid joke by bellegar? I dont think I get any malachite gems through this quest.

Update: Just obtain 1 more from depleted ore mine where the 3 books is locate. Seems like those malachite ore vein will randomly give malachite gems. Now got total of 9 malachite.

Malachites in grave robber cave are random find.
Did this little pisser have it in his inventory or in some hiding place? I read his mind few times but newer got malachite. Probably it is random as well.

There is approximately 14 malachite gems in the game. They're quite rare.

I can read Russian. Can you post a link? Actually I almost done with the game. I did all quests for all NPC’s including both sets of helpers in the Tower even found worthless Grimroy family treasure. Over 10k in mindreading for 1 random trinket.
Still it would be nice to read a decent walkthrough. I checked English one or was it just translation from German but it misses a lot of quests and not that good on everything else...

If it wont take too much of your time, please do so. I think it will be good to use as a reference

I know there another 2 malachite can only be obtain if had radcliff as enchanter instead of couple.

Broken Valley (before destruction) - 3 gems
2 gems you can buy from Lamotte (village merchant)
1 gem you will get as reward from sleeping trio (wake them up)

Orobas Fjords - 13 gems
1 gem - read the Charlie's (goblin on the small island) mind and you will get a malachite in his chest
1 gem - random merchant on the road to High Halls (appears only once)
2 gems - two malachite's veins in Patriarch's cave
4 gems - after finishing second quest in High Hall (water supply), read the woman's mind (who gave you the quest)
1 gem - High Hall, second quest dungeon - check malachite vein in the same room where demon is (do it before you will transform into dragon)
1 gem - malachite vein in the cave of treasure quest (orobas fjords, four adventures looking for a treasure)
2 gem - Redcliff's quest, you can trade to goblins precious redcliff stone for 2 malachite gems
1 gem - malachite vein after a 3 pedestals with colored books

I think those malachite gem getting through malachite vein are totally random, as I didnt manage to get any from grave robber quest's cave, patriarch's cave and the high hall well cave before changing into dragon.

when i read Charlie's mind... he refers to a goddess or some such in his Star Stone.. at first i thought he might be referring to the Zepplin Stone... but when u talk to Simeon he will tell u the imps or goblins (one of them) call the malachite gems Star Stones!

but i couldn't find any in his hut in the tree... there is a locked chest up there that i couldn't pick.. so maybe there's one in there.

After you read Charlie's mind, climb up the tree and you will notice a small chest on the ground. That small chest wont be there if you didnt read charlie's mind and its totally not lock.

lol.. ty ACSS. i thought it was because my lock-pick skills were bad. now that it's higher i went back and still found squat! gotta look again!

and i got 4 gems from finishing the Well-quest in High Hall mines. but that random merchant for some reason just wouldn't sell me his gem!! i clicked and i clicked!! grrr..! and yes... i have to agree with you on the veins being totally random, i only found Malachite ore in them ever!

The Malachite veins are random..... I did the save/reload trick, from the lift near the 3 pedestals in Depleted Ore Mine, and managed to get 5 gems from the 2 veins.
They were the first veins I came across...... lots more to come

That good 5 gem from 2 veins. But there actually not much malachite vein in the game actually. Just a few only. Usually you will keep them for your final equipment for rank 10 enchantments

Hmm .. yesterday I did a quest of a girl in High Hall village in the Orobas Fjords and as a reward for that quest I retrieve 4 Malachide gems in one time!

It seems that each vein can give up to 4 gems ( can be lots of reloading though )
The two veins in the first mine are too close together for reloading too much though, so getting 5 was probably quite good.............. until I got six later
