It seems odd that Gamestop hasn't changed their December 29th ship date. They're usually always on top with the latest release dates.

My Favorite RPGs: Divinity franchise, Gothic franchise (including Arcania, so I think I'm alone...), Venetica, Risen, Two Worlds II, The Witcher, Sacred franchise, Fallout franchise, Mass Effect 1, Alpha Protocol, Planescape: Torment, Drakensang, KOTOR 1 & 2, etc.

Nope.
January 5th was re-confirmed in the DEMO PR.

Sometimes places get games early and they don't have a street date, thus I was wondering if Gamestop is getting them in and putting them on the shelves earlier than expected. It seems odd they haven't switched that date.

Personally, I am just going to go with Amazon. I have 10.00 off my next game purchase anyway.

I had it on pre-order from Amazon, but I cancelled that pre-order and just did an in-store Best Buy pick up when they added it to their online inventory. They've been pretty good with in-store pick up for the more obscure games.

I think that date is when Gamestop ships pre-orders, not the release date (they list the download version as available Jan 5th). Some places mail out pre-orders early, so they will arrive by the release date (they have to get games a little early anyway, to have time to re-distribute them to individual stores, etc). Some retailers put games on the shelves a little early, as well, though they are not suppose to (larger stores / chains may not want to risk annoying distributors / publishers).

It should indeed! Since the end of November.

I did end up ordering it online - the good thing is that the game is sold out - good for Larian! - bad for me wink So I am still waiting to play.

Well, I pre-ordered mine this morning and was told that the shipping date is indeed the 29th and that it should be in on Wednesday, unless it gets delayed a week because of the new year. A week at the most or a couple of days at best, so no worries. Hopefully I will be able to get it on Wednesday, though.

Well I just called GameStop and Divinity 2 is shipping now. He also said the game should be in stores tomorrow here in the US. I did notice though that the download version will not be available till Jan.5th. This is VERY good news for those of us here in the US!!! hehe

I knew something was up when Gamespot and Gamestop had it as the 29th and never changed it. Gamestop.com is indeed shipping now, which means it'll be in Gamestop stores tomorrow. And I'm waiting on Amazon. ****! I cancelled my Best Buy order and went with Amazon again for the $10 credit. What's up with this exclusivity release date crap?

Yeah, a guy on the div2 forum over on Gamespot said he just got a text message saying the game will be in tomorrow. Looks like I pre-ordered just in time this morning, lol. Hopefully I will be hearing from them some time today as well.

*Hey, Bio, just cancel your order and go with Game Stop, man. headbanging

Saving $10 off one of the so many future releases I'm buying > getting it a week early, imo. Mass Effect 2 for $46.99 sounds good.

It's still **** nonetheless. Gamestop 1 week exclusivity, oh dear...
