No. Gamestop doesn't break street date on this kind of scale. They're the most strict on street dates and if it does happen, it's a few stores. Either it doesn't have a street date (many games actually don't) or it's 1 week exclusivity, and I'm banking on the latter since it seems other retailers aren't offering it.

Why would they have an exclusivity deal on a game like this.
Its not exactly a Mass Effect or w/e.
They probably got told by there release sources thats the date and have stuck to it.

You should be able to buy it at "GameStop" tomorrow.

I was wondering where it has been stated that the US release date of 12/29/09.....was extended to a later date?

Opps never mind I see Amazon has it set to release on 1/5/10..... but where is it stated by CDV when the release dae is supposed to be?

Then why aren't other retailers permitted to sell it? It's not a street date fiasco, because Gamestop knows better and doesn't want to mess with the legal aspects that come along with that.

I'm not here to argue.
So don't tempt me.
All I'm going to say is it probably isn't an Exclusivity Deal dunno why they would do one when they know the game isn't going to sell millions.

End of from me...

Maybe Gamestop just made a bigger order than everyone else, or confirmed their order earlier. They have the only pre-order bonus content (equipment set for the Xbox version) for the NA release, so maybe they just have a better relationship with the publisher.

Not that it will matter for me if the game is out early. I ordered an Xbox from Best Buy online on boxing day (C$240 + $20 for Fable 2) even though it was listed as backordered, because I didn't want to bother with traffic, parking or lineups. Oh well, hopefully it will not take too long...

Just got a copy of the PC version from Gamestop but unfortunately it was gutted...meaning they are selling it as new when the box has been opened and has stickers on the case. frown Went ahead and bought it since it was the only copy but before I break the makeshift seal, can anyone confirm that Gamestop is the only retailer that will be selling the game this week? Checked Wal-Mart and Best Buy on the way home but they didn't have it yet.

Gamestop does that with all the games especially if it's the only they have in the store they have for sale..... This is done to prevent theft and while putting it on the display shelf..... I pre-ordered mine so mine was in the original packaging.....not one sticker....woohoo.. (I hate stickers on game packaging....

Used 360 version is already down to $44.99 at Gamestop. It just came out today... lol.

PS: I've gotten many gutted copies, too. If it's opened, you should get it for the used price. No seal = used, imo, and Gamestop doesn't take back new games that are opened, so why should they be able to sell 'em as such?

Yeah, I understand why they do it but it'd be nice if they would just keep single-copy niche games like Divinity 2 sealed behind the counter in plain view in the display case. I totally agree about getting it for the used price if it's opened. They don't sell used PC games but they could knock 5 bucks off or something. They did put a little seal on the case so if I find a copy that's not gutted, I can still return the Gamestop one. I made sure of this before purchasing the game. Usually I refuse to buy gutted games but I figured that it might be my only chance to get the game this week.

They put that circle sticker seal on the spine of the case so that they know if you opened the already opened copy. wink

Gamestop and the publisher definitely had an exclusive deal. "Gamestop" and their motto "power to the players" is actually printed on the box art. Lol. At least I got the pre-order stuff without having a pre-order since it was in the case.
