Ich denke, da liegt ein Mißverständnis vor... ursprünglich hieß es, daß Sean Connery den Gandalf spielen sollte, also in den drei Teilen, in denen dann am Ende Ian McKellen die Rolle hatte. Eine Umbesetzung war dementsprechend kein Thema.
Ich finde, Sean Connery hätte die Rolle auch gut gemacht, aber seine Popularität hätte vielleicht dem Projekt an sich geschadet.
