hi,
i got me a lvl 20 "real" mage (= just mage skills) but plan on making a melee char.
iv browsed the forum and alot say int is the way to go (mage only needs int for gear imo since int doesnt seem to affect spelldmg).
personally id think bout high str/vit build for pure melee and go dual wield.
anyone who can give advise on wether i better go int or str?

another question i have is: do i need int/dex for gear or just go for the STR gear?

and 1 last question :p
i know the sets for mage (lightbringer/scorpset/archmage set and so so)
but i was wondering what the STR sets are. so i can keep a look out for those

thnx in advance ^^

lol edit for the REAL LAST QUESTION ^^
when i made it to dragonform i lvled the fireblast skill but i cant use it in dragonform smirk
anyone having same prob?

You can refer to the screenshot in the following thread as reference. That my dual wield warrior stats during end game
http://www.larian.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=396848#Post396848

As for non set gear, I prefer the heavy/ elite champion set for my warrior, since I like the champion set skin over others.

For set gears, in my own opinion, those archmage, scorpion and hunter sets are kinda junks. Those are the 3 sets which consist of 10 parts to consider a full set. I myself prefer ultring set, which only consist of 4 armor parts, providing more enchantment and charm slots, as well as better set bonus to me. And most important, the flexibility of using legendary accessories than limited by those in the 3 above set which give you crappy necklace, rings and etc.

I dont know if your fire blast is fire breath or not, as I only fire breath and fire sphere. Fire breath is the default attack skill of dragon, just left click the mouse and fire will auto breath out from your dragon. If you are on 360, then I really no idea which is its default button. Maybe just try check on your config. For fire sphere, just put it to the shortcut key bar, aim a target and press the correspond short cut key to fire a fire ball out from your dragon.

+2, i totally agree here smile

I to started out with a mage, but now i became sort off melee-caster type.
I got high vit-str-and semi-high int.

I only use fireballs (8/10 atm) and it does nice dmg to those around you smile (dont forget the chance to do DOT)
I to would forget about the set gear. ive seen archmage and found it crappy as well.

Well the high int contributes to weapon's magical damage. IF you check on the screenshot again, you will notice there magical damage. Weapon dont just do melee damage, but also magical damage, and its all depends on your weapon selection. Some come with just plain melee, where some have both melee and magical equal. Try check up on weapons and you will notice it. Since both my swords has 3 enchantment slots, I enchanted rank 10 melee and magical damage on each of the sword, which add 27 melee and magical damage on each sword. Beside that I dont need anymore str and dex, as my heightened reflex already max out at 75%, where my str already 90+ with gear stats. Do remember max for all stats is 100. So the extra will go to int, which can increase my damage as well, as I already has more than enough hp and mp

I couldnt remember exactly my base stats, as I had already uninstall the game, but still keep the saves. Bit lazy to reinstall back :hihi:. But I can roughly remember bit, where my int is actually higher compare to my str with dex the lowest. Distribution of stats is mainly rely on gears and charms you choose to use. The gears I had contributed a lot to my str, therefore I put less points on str. I remember I had a belt which add 10 to 13 str with other stats, and also 1 to 2 charm slots. Having good gears will help pass through the game like breeze. I can kill the final boss in high difficulty mode with 1 thousand strike if lucky enough.

Well I dont know how you look in the screenshot, but please check on the weapon damage column again.

Weapon damage: 561-682+(290-290

The 290 is blue color already told you that its magical damage. If my weapon dont come with magical damage, how am I getting that figure? Beside the screenshot already show that the sword has both 27 melee and magic damage on my weapon enchantment slot as well. Look at those gold color enchantment description ouch

I think you really had no idea how weapon damage work
