I'm 37, female and an avid gamer, though I don't at all care for consoles, because pc players are sold out because of them, but that's another story. I also often notice with great sadness, that a lot of game companies just seem to not acknowledge there are female players at all, regardless of age. And when you see such a male-only-rpg like i.e. Risen and read the credits, you see there aren't even any women on the dev team. Which explains a lot, lol.
I play on both a console and PC. Exclusives FTW.
I think you'll find alot of companies acknowledge girl gamers more than you think. Quite alot of games nowadays are incorporating female gender characters for the gamer to play as, even in shooters where it's sometimes a little less feasible (and that's not to say women are not capable).
