Hm, there are some out there... loved Longest Journey, so April Ryan and Zoe Castillo are nice, though Zoe is a bit naive, but still adorable.
Dragon Age is mature in that regard; male or female hero are equal - but recognized as such, which lacks in DD2 (my girls have been referred to as males a couple of times). Oblivion also treats both genders alike. It's another thing, what modders focus on.

But I think it's not about the female lead alone, it's about how the game itself treats the characters. How the player is directed to perceive them. With the main audience of adolescent males, there's also some educational aspect. For example, Gothic 3 forgot about women altogether; Risen has some women. A couple of whores and some housewifes who cook and sweep the streets. And yes, a pirate wench. And the guys who are playing the game, don't even notice there's somethin off. And have unconciously shaped their world view. Yeah I know, I think too much. But stuff like that worries me, because it explaines too well the behaviour of a lot of young people. As I experience it.

Have you played Mirrors Edge?

Tried to. Couldn't. Because of the missing body issue.
Are they too cheap to create a toon and do the animations for it?

So would you like to see a strong female anti-hero?

Now I didn't say that. I just said that I liked Geralt a lot. But it could be interesting. Not a de-sexified piece if rock, though. Sexy is okay, but admirable for her strength of will would be required, too.

Also what games do you play on the PC?

I think I mentioned a few already. And I guess you don't want to hear about the early days of Tetris and Civ, haha. The jump into the 3d world was Indy and then Tomb Raider. Big TR fan for the longest time (before Crystal Dynamics). All kinds of adventures. Used to like click & point with nifty riddles, but nowadays I'm more into nice graphics. PoP is cool, love the acrobatics and the prince is hunky and goofy enough to be a good male character, heh. And yes, I've played Sims. My version was modded to mature rating, though.

So how about a little quid pro quo?
What do you play or what games would you recommend?
What's your view on the more philosophical issues? Am I being too earnest for something that's supposed to be just fun or is there some disconcerting grain of truth in my musings? wink
