I cleaned out the sewers and above ground area in the graveyard. I haven't gone in the crypt yet or got into the large building. I'll probably go back and finish the abbey soon... but I hadn't thought about going back and killing all the orcs. Good call on that one. (lvl 19 now, btw).
Where in Sam Hill the vampire that killed George? I've ran all around Verdistus and found a new quest or two, but no sign of him. I'd really like to get that free restoration skill.
