I had the same problem with Drangon Age: Origins and Divinity 2, in DA it occurs since the beginning of the game. But with Divinity 2 it only occurred in the end of the game.
I had the same problem with other games like Assassins Creed (in the end of the game) and Prototype (since the beginning of the game), i have poor system specs but i know its noot because of that, the only thing i can say is that the last two games that don't had that problem here are made with the Unreal3 Engine (Batmam and Borderlands).
I think it is a cammom problem.
And in Divinity 2 that slowdown, is not related to memory, here Divinity 2 never used more than 750MB, while in DA when i just start the game it alread uses 1,5GB os memory.
NOTE: I alread runs RivaTuner while gaming, it show 60~80ºC on the GPU, in the Bios the CPU shows 45~50ºC. No Fan issue here.
