You have to go back to the main room and get the hint for the third room...

You have to go back and read the book on the pedestal in the main room you came to first and you will hear a hint given to you.

When you go in the room click on and smash every thing in the room after you have cleared out the monsters....The button looks like a small can siting on a table on the left center of the room (NOT IN THE CENTER ALCOVE) Hit that button and go back to the center door that you need to go through and it should be open..... I think my memory serves me corectly here. The button is VERY SMALL and insignificant hence the hint from the book.

In my game the cup was not on a table. It was on the entrance part to the 2 thrones.

I'm pretty good at figuring things out but this really boggles my mind, it is actually fustrating. thank you for any and all help...

Look throughly again in the room for objects which you can interact with, dont care whether its a cup or tin. The room aint that big and its aint hard to do so.

When you enter the central room there is a door and pedestal on the left and the same on the right. One is the Gold room, the other is the platform room. Straight ahead there is a corridor, at the end of which is a pedistal and book, and just behind that is a transport platform. Have you read the book, stepped on the platform and entered the "Mirror" room?
