Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Help/Tips/Tricks Gold Significance??

I was wondering what the significance of gold is in Divinity 2? The reason why I wonder about this is becaues I am just before getting my tower and I have accumulated what seems to me to be a ton of gold and so far I have had nearly no need to spend it except at the very begining of the game to buy a few health potions..... Will there come a time when I will really need all this gold?

You need around 40k+ to fully upgrading all your runners, to increase efficiency while collecting raw materials for enchanting and potions brewing. The rest you will probably be spending you legendary gears later when you found the merchant that sell legendary gears.
