The problem was with the quick save, I now have about 40 saves and I guess it is "working" now so long as I always hit new save. I have also seen a lot of bugs where the game freezes when exiting to windows and where zoning will just cause an "infinite loading" screen to appear.
3 fairly major bugs that happen pretty frequently for this to go through QA. The game is decent, but the QA process means it will be a long long long long time before I buy another game from this studio again. I can understand some freezing, or gameplay glitches and other types of bugs on release, but when you can't simply save your game without corrupting the save game file (and it started about 15 minutes into the game and was EXTREMELY apparent, that is not even trying to test the game.
This is a B- game that was kind of forgettable to begin with, with these bugs it is more of a D and that is only because I am really into RPGs, I would never recommend this game to someone who isn't a big RPG guy.
