Larian Studios Forums Divinity 2 - Ego Draconis (English) Technical problems can't get past main menu

I just bought the game and I installed it and dx9 and everything from the cd. i updated all my drivers. tried starting the game, shows the starting vids, but then it goes blank. sometimes it actually gets to the main menu. when it does get to the main menu, it lets me click on the buttons, but they don't do anything. it's like it's a fake menu or something.

I searched everywhere and found that changing resolution manually in a file sometimes helps blank screen, so i tried that and same thing happens.

I saw somewhere that it has to be installed on c: drive? so i uninstalled and reinstalled on c: drive (which isn't where windows is installed) and it still doesn't work.

I found a patch 1.03 on fileplanet and installed that, and still same problem.

I tried installing the game on another computer and it seems to work fine, so it's not the disc. i had some issues with the graphics settings, but got those worked out.

The game does not need to be installed on the c: drive, but it does save the games to the 'Documents and Settings' folder in XP or the 'Users' folder in Vista/7, which are usually on the c: drive in a default Windows install.

Sorry I don't have anything to add that you haven't tried already or isn't in the First Aid topic, etc.

I'm having the same problem, all drivers up to date, tried everything in the First Aid topic, other random solutions and nothing is working. I can't even get a fake menu to load. I'm hoping the patch will fix it but I doubt it

I had the same problem as you, sea post "another game wont load problem dated 14 Jan.
I was able to fix that screen by running a [AMD duel core processor optimiser program]and by disabling my anti virus program. However I am still having problems with the next screen, [character development]as the mouse pointer runs all over the screen any time I move the mouse, so I cant activate any of the settings. I hope you have better luck.
