Raze is correct in removing the entry in device manager. Win7 has a bazillion device drivers for almost everything.
Did a fresh install on a new drive with Win7 on my existing machine, had all the MOBO drivers and the like on a DVD already to go, and much to my surprise there was not one yellow exclamation point in the device manager. Win7 had everything installed and ready to go.
The PCI Memory Controller is a chipset driver and should be updated through your laptop manufacturer or as stated, the disc that came with it..................or maybe even on a recovery partition somewhere.
