And like ACSS says: good gear is a must to have for upgrading your stats etc...
Try this:
equip best gear you can find, write down your statpoints and comparing these points with the statpoints AFTER you make all gearslots empty!! (out of all your weapons and other equipment ... lol)
It gives a demonstrable difference, you would see it laugh
