There is no secret passage you need to use the teleporter in that upper area with the guard.

You need to find the explosives and clear out what she did.
First there are hidden areas in the cells, look for I think it was tiny little square buttons on the wood frames around the hidden doors. You need to find the hidden explosives (run on setting smile )
First you need to find the hidden key

That prisoner gives you a really good clue as well if you utilize him. smile

This is from a walkthrough:
-The cell doors open by pressing a button to the left of the locked door

-You can see an obvious secret passage in the cells on the southern wall.
Start from the southeastern cell and toggle a button on the wooden beam on the
left next to the back wall.

-The next button is on the right as you face the other obvious false wall.
This leads you to a key which opens the chest in back, near the explosives.

-Take both explosives. There's more than one passage that needs clearing.

-Past the first cave in, the map shows a secondary cavern branching off of
the main cavern to the west. Use the second barrel of gunpowder to open this
area. You'll find a key at the end.

Don't feel dumb it took me days with help to find the hidden floor lock in the below ground area with the three skeletons just down the hill from Jacksons farm in Broken valley.
I looked thru that broken and bent door many a time and said there has to be a way to get to that chest surrounded with gold. Except I thought I'd get all that gold. hahaha That is one of the first places I found there.

So after that multi day brain fart I resorted to looking at a walkthrough for any hidden or puzzle stuff. I want to play a game not be baffled for days. grin

In the battle tower basement,

ok so in the "storage room" as the prisnor put it before I let him out, is where I can find the explosives? I have been in that room a hundred times and I cannot find any items at all. any ideas?

There is a hidden square area on one of the wood beams I believe that will reveal a hidden room with the explosives on a desk.

The square area to activate is tiny so look hard it is on the wood though I'm pretty sure. It is on the left hand side beam as well I think. About the size of a matchbook in proportion to your character.

Look at your map a lot as well, as it will reveal a lot of the so called hidden areas.
