I'm running it at 1680x1050 and luckily haven't run into your issue
Strange, is that with the original 3 cd version?
Anyhow its good you dont have the automap problem.
I'm very happy anyway. $6 for the digital version that officially supports widescreen and now has all the bugs fixed is great value.
A little side note. Try running the game in 1440x900. I found 1680x1050 zoomed out the game just a bit too far on my 22" monitor.
Running in the smaller resolution (which keeps the 1:6 aspect ratio) gives a much better zoom level imho.
