Where are you, what type of character are you trying to play, and what exactly are you having problems with? Generally if you start running into difficult areas, there is somewhere else you can do first.

BTW, if you edit your post in the other forum, there is a 'Delete Post' button beside the 'Change Post' and preview buttons, which will remove the topic, as well (as long as nobody replies to it). This will not drop your post count.
