I reskilled 4 times to try out different skills and level 5 magic missiles would take out everyone in one or two goes that I tried it on up to level 27 ring guys.
They do give you side quests to upgrade though so that might be good if you want the EXP.
Main point of my post was that Hermosa is the better choice as you don't have to give up 5 skill points. As I said I just let them fight it out and the better "man" will win.
Who wins though may come into play as to which route you are taking in the game. More towards evil or good, can't for sure say though. Hermosa won the fight easily in my case.
