i was wondering which is faster singing blade with speed 2, or with speed 8, or 12. which one is stronger? I have a sword of Stupification which has poisoning damage 5, lighting damage 5 and mana drain 5, but surprisingly the Striking Bat from Aleroth catacombs with damage 18 and speed 2 can do more damage and I'm still using rather than singing blade with no speed. Is it really depends on speed number and which is more beneficial for me more speed or less speed?

Any speed value on a weapon is subtracted from your recuperation time, so higher is better (though you can not get the total below zero). At least with swords, the weapon expertise is going to reduce recuperation time to zero anyway, so it is a little helpful in the beginning of the game, but not a significant attribute overall.

I went primarily with damage for swords and then looked at bonuses; stat or hit point bonuses were best, IMO, followed by damage spells, but speed was never a consideration. Even the speed difference switching from a one to two handed sword wasn't a huge effect, though I eventually switched back to a one handed sword (not quite as much damage, but a little faster and more bonuses from equipping a shield).

I noticed that speed no matter how big the number is doesn't really affect anything, but only it does when the weapon comes with some other damage capacities like lihgtning or poisoning or fire damage and + life or mana drain - that's when you have a really powerful weapon. But honestly nothing works as good as mage skill. I think I was most successful while being a mage rather than a warrior. But game is a personal experience I guess. One thing I have to admit that I keep playing DD - I lost count of how many times I already played it from the beginning to the end. Even after Beyond Divinity, DD still rules! I love everything about DD - medieval outfit of the DD world and men and women dressed as in Dark Ages, classical gothic style of the abbeys and churches, and people talking differently, like in old times... ANd oh yes I loooove music - so classical gothic, medievalish!
