Hi,

I recently bought the game. The only only problem I have are the crashes to desktop during the auto save game phases or quick saves. It's not a systematic crash, sometimes I can play for hours before having problems. But most of the time it happens after 5 to 15 minutes of play.

According to an other forum this specific crash problem would be fixed by the new patch 1.03. I installed it immediately and everything seemed to work, but after 3 hours, it crashed again during an auto save game.

And now it is crashing again on a regular basis.

I have searched this site and the net but no answers. Am I the only one to have this bug?

Is there anything I can do to solve this problem? As I am playing under Vista maybe it's some form of access rights? (I have run the game as an administrator and got a crash)

Try shutting down your antivirus scanners when playing as they can corrupt save game files on many games when using "buggy" Vista.

In the compatability options for the game, try disabling desktop composition; someone reported (here) that this fixed problems with crashing and missing graphics at some resolutions.

I checked this thread. The guy Dante 123, seemed to have crashes during saves to, but he had other problems. If I understand his posts, he only update his vid card drivers and the save crashes disappeared.

The problem is, I have the Nvidia GTX 260 with the 196.21 drivers. So I don't see a way to update them for now. But maybe reverting to old drivers from June. So it could be a vid drivers related bug?

Anyway I'll try to turn off the anti virus. Will keep you posted.
